Description

The Air Shower Pass Box(Cart Air Shower/Cart Pass-Thru) is an active cleaning auxiliary device used in cleanrooms to transfer small articles between clean areas or between clean and non-clean areas by spraying purified air from a HEPA filter onto the goods being transferred through rotary nozzles. The air shower pass-through box is a type of dynamic pass box. This is an integrated device that combines an air shower and a pass box to transfer objects between clean rooms and non-clean rooms.
This helps remove dust particulates efficiently, reducing the risk of contamination and controlling the ingress of particulate contamination into cleanrooms and other controlled environments. It helps maintain the integrity of products and processes by minimizing the transfer of contaminants and reducing pollution in clean areas by minimizing the frequency of clean room door openings.

The principle of operation of an Air Shower Pass Box involves several key steps to ensure thorough cleaning and transfer of materials:

  • Air Filtration: Air from the cleanroom is drawn into the pass box and passed through a high-efficiency filter to remove impurities and contaminants, ensuring that only clean air is used in the process. Use pre-filter to prevent impurities and contaminants from the materials entering the cleanroom.
  • Nozzle Spraying: Purified air is then sprayed through stainless steel nozzles at a high velocity of over 20m/s. This rapid airflow helps dislodge any remaining particles from the surfaces of the materials being transferred.
  • Transfer Process: one door of the pass box is opened while the other remains closed. Materials are placed inside the box, and upon closing the door, the air nozzles automatically activate, creating a “shower” of clean air over the materials.
  • Blowing Phase: Once both doors are closed, the pass box initiates a blowing phase. After a short delay, typically 1 to 2 seconds, a fan starts blowing air over the cargo. This blowing action lasts for around 10 seconds, although the duration can be adjusted based on requirements.
  • Material Retrieval: After the blowing process is complete, the fan stops, and the doors can be opened to retrieve the sanitized materials. This ensures that the materials are free from contaminants and ready for use in cleanroom environments.
